Gifted Intervention Specialist

Lakota Local Schools, Woodland Elementary School, Middletown, Ohio
Title:
Teacher – Gifted Intervention Specialist, 1 full-time position (1 FTE)
The Gifted Intervention Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing specialized instructional strategies and programs tailored to the needs of gifted and talented students across grades K‑12. This role emphasizes fostering academic excellence, creativity, and social‑emotional growth while ensuring compliance with state and district guidelines for gifted education. The specialist works closely with classroom teachers to differentiate curriculum, provide resources that enhance learning for gifted students, supports identification and assessment, and promotes equitable access to gifted services.
Responsibilities- Develop and implement specialized instructional strategies and programs for gifted and talented students across grades K‑12.
- Foster academic excellence, creativity, and social‑emotional growth among gifted students.
- Ensure compliance with state and district guidelines for gifted education.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to differentiate curriculum and provide enhancements for gifted students.
- Support identification and assessment of gifted students and promote equitable access to gifted services.
- Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Valid Ohio teaching license in English Language Arts or Math.
- Ohio K‑12 Gifted Intervention Specialist endorsement (or alternative licensure pathway accepted).
- Experience in gifted education or differentiated instruction.
- Valid driver’s license.
7.75 hours per day; 184 days per school‑year calendar.
