POSITION
Aviation Maintenance Instructor
VISIONButler Tech is expanding its aviation program and seeks an experienced aviation maintenance professional to serve as an Aviation Maintenance Instructor. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality aviation instruction and ensuring aviation maintenance courses are taught in compliance with all applicable FAA Part 147 regulations and certification requirements.
GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Aviation Maintenance Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality aviation instruction that aligns with Ohio Department of Education & Workforce standards and/or FAA Part 147 curriculum requirements. The instructor employs effective teaching strategies to ensure students develop the technical knowledge, skills, and professional competencies necessary for success in the aviation industry. The instructor always prioritizes student growth and seeks to identify learning opportunities in every situation.
The instructor also ensures maintenance courses maintain compliance with FAA regulations and expectations for safety operations, physical organization, equipment inventory, and record-keeping. Additional leadership opportunities – including FAA Part 147 managerial oversight and Director of Aviation responsibilities – may be possible with this position in the future.
We are seeking applicants who can start in August 2026; however, we may review alternative timeline considerations on an individual basis.
QUALIFICATIONS- Mustmeet

AND
atleast5yearsofrelevantworkexperienceinaviation maintenance AND
willingness to&abilitytocomplete
Ohio'salternativeteacherlicensureprocess;
OR - Current Ohio State Boardof Education (SBOE) licensureinan
Aviation,Transportation,or Engineering teaching area;

- Must hold FAA certifications relevant to the position:

Airframe and Powerplant mechanic ratings - Preferred:
Inspector Authorization (IA) certification - Preferred: FAA certification(s) in piloting (Private Pilot's License, etc.)
- Required:

- Abilitytointeractsuccessfullywithacademicaswellasbusinessandregulatorystakeholders;

- State-issuedidentificationcardwithphotograph;
- Historyofstrongworkrecord,includinggoodjobattendance,andacceptablecriminalrecord.

SALARYBased upon experience and education ($52,819– 110,180)
