General Summary/Responsibilities

Full-time - 700am-330pm900am-530pm,100pm - 930pm, 300pm-1130pm

A Certified Pharmacy Technician, Under The Direct Supervision Of a Pharmacist, Engage In The Following Activities To The Extent That The Activities Do Not Require The Exercise Of Professional Judgment
- 1. Entering information into and retrieving information from a database or patient profile
- 2. Preparing and affixing labels
- 3. Stocking dangerous drugs and retrieving those drugs from inventory
- 4. Counting and pouring dangerous drugs into containers
- 5. Placing dangerous drugs into containers prior to dispensing by a pharmacist
- 6. Non-sterile drug compounding following the completion of site-specific training
- 7. Sterile drug compounding following the completion of a site-specific training
- 7. Stocking automated drug storage systems, floor stock, and crash carts
Minimum Level of
Education Required:
High School completion / GED
- Preferred educational qualifications:
Completion of an ASHP/ACPE-accredited technician education and training program
- Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB)
- Registration with the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a “Certified Pharmacy Technician” or eligible for registration within 45 days of hire.
Minimum Level of Experience
Required:
No prior job-related work experience
Preferred experience:
Prior hospital, long-term care or retail experience preferred
- Possess good interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and problem solving skills
- Able to read and write printed material in English
- Proficiency with computer keyboard operations
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred
- Ability to compute simple algebraic ratios, volume/volume percentage and weight/volume percentage
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy. Must be familiar with pharmacy software
- Possess ability to work well with other health care workers and perform as team member
- Flexibility in scheduling essential as mentor/trainer of new coworkers
