ResponsibilitiesA cook at The Laurels prepares nourishing, well-balanced meals tailored to residents' nutritional and dietary needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Following standardized recipes
- Preparing foods according to menus developed by dietitians
- Cooking meals that are appetizing, well-presented, and nutritionally adequate at proper temperatures and times
- Using supplies and equipment efficiently to prevent waste
- Providing meal alternatives for residents' preferences and refusals
- Supervising culinary staff regarding food storage, preparation, tray assembly, and cleaning
In the absence of the chef or dietary manager, supervising culinary staff is also required.
Education and Experience- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One year of experience as a cook in an institutional setting preferred
