A cook at The Laurels prepares nourishing, well-balanced meals tailored to residents' nutritional and dietary needs.

Responsibilities include:

• Following standardized recipes
• Preparing foods according to menus developed by dietitians
• Cooking meals that are appetizing, well-presented, and nutritionally adequate at proper temperatures and times
• Using supplies and equipment efficiently to prevent waste
• Providing meal alternatives for residents' preferences and refusals
• Supervising culinary staff regarding food storage, preparation, tray assembly, and cleaning

In the absence of the chef or dietary manager, supervising culinary staff is also required.

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One year of experience as a cook in an institutional setting preferred
