Position: Chemical Operator I - Day Shift (E)

Job Summary

Responsible for following manufacturing instructions to perform production and shipping related duties to ensure on-time production and shipment of product while adhering to high standards of quality, safety and customer service.

Shift Schedule

Facility operates 24/7 with a 12‑hour day shift on a 2‑2‑3 schedule.

Responsibilities
  • Operate production equipment safely and consistently with training and work instructions.
  • Prepare mixing vessels, pumps and hoses for unloading and fill containers according to batch tickets, pick tickets or export order sheets.
  • Inspect all containers for cleanliness and integrity before filling.
  • Label, palletize, wrap and ship containers, completing related work orders in JDE.
  • Maintain accurate batch documentation, calculate batch yields, and respond appropriately to deviations.
  • Store and stage inventory, assist in tracking material inventory and performing counts, and make inventory transfers in JDE.
  • Load and unload box trucks, flat‑beds, tanker trucks and rail cars manually or with material handling equipment.
  • Load containerized and bulk raw materials into production vessels.
  • Complete shipping responsibilities: receive purchase orders in JDE, ship items in JDE, communicate late shipments to OTC, prepare UPS and Fed Ex shipments, and call trucks for shipments.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and strictly adhere to all plant safety policies.
  • Provide immediate containment, reporting and clean‑up of spilled material or leaks.
  • Operate forklifts and other motorized vehicles safely and proficiently.
  • Hold team members accountable for safety and quality procedures.
  • Participate routinely in the site safety committee.
  • Assist in investigating and resolving customer complaints.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Responsibilities may vary by work location.
Physical Demands & Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, moving mechanical parts, electrical shock, trip and slip hazards, and loud noise. Ability to lift bags and containers up to 50pounds, move drums up to 500pounds with mechanical equipment, stand for long periods, walk great distances, work in small spaces and high locations.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 0‑1 year production experience; 1‑2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret batch sheets, SOPs and work instructions.
  • Reliable attendance and a positive team‑oriented attitude.
  • Basic mathematical skills; precise and accurate with figures and details.
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50pounds and move drums up to 500pounds with mechanical equipment.
