Platform Engineer II - AWS, Kubernetes & Golang

Job Description This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship, now or in the future. Candidates must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder. This position is hybrid 3 days per week in the following offices:
Cincinnati, OH, Atlanta, GA, Jacksonville, FL or Denver, CO. This position is not eligible for remote work.

• Multi-region Open Shift platform operations — Manage at scale 25+ Open Shift clusters across 6 AWS regions, ensuring reliability, security, and performance for payment services.
• Infrastructure as Code & Git Ops — Design and maintain declarative infrastructure using Kubernetes manifests.
• Kubernetes Operators & automation — Build or integrate operators that simplify infrastructure management, reduce toil, and enable consumer teams to self-serve without platform team bottlenecks.
• Observability & platform health — Own monitoring, alerting, and logging across the platform.
• Container Security & compliance — Implement and maintain security controls to support payment services and regulatory requirements.
• Incident response & troubleshooting — Debug platform issues across our fleet.

• A bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or other related discipline plus 5+ years of experience or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience.
• Solid experience managing container orchestration technologies in production (e.g., Red Hat Open Shift, Kubernetes).
• Strong experience with containers and immutable infrastructure.
• Strong experience working in Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience in programming languages such as Python, Golang.
• Experience with Git Ops deployment tools such as ArgoCD or Flux.
• Experience in continuous integration and delivery tooling (e.g., Git Hub Actions, Jenkins, Terraform).
• Experience working in a global online business, especially payment or financial trading platforms, is a bonus.
• Knowledge of security aspects of financial trading/monetary transfer systems, including PCI compliance, DDoS prevention, IDS, container security, and regulatory audit requirements.
• Experience running Apache Kafka on Kubernetes (architecture, components, producers, consumers, deployment, configuration, optimization, Zoo Keeper, brokers etc).
• Experience running persistence services on Kubernetes (e.g., Redis).
• Good knowledge of standard internet protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, HTTP and relevant troubleshooting tools, plus Linux based operating systems.

Working with a group of highly skilled platform engineers, this role focuses on engineering and maturing the global Worldpay Kubernetes/Open Shift platform. The Platform Team builds, releases, and operates technology products and services to support an elastically scalable and fault tolerant platform running Kubernetes with Open Shift  team also explores the evolution of containerized runtimes, service mesh, serverless, and persistence topics like Kafka.

For this full-time position, the good faith estimated annual salary range upon hire is $91,900.00–$. The actual starting salary will be determined by a candidate’s experience, job‑related skills and relevant education or training.
