Senior Accountant

Description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our client in the Middletown area. This position is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the monthly close process, and delivering reliable reporting that helps guide business decisions. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, a careful eye for detail, and the ability to improve processes within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities:

- Produce financial statements and management reports that are accurate, timely, and useful for both internal leaders and external stakeholders.

- Contribute to the annual budgeting cycle and assist with forecasts and planning activities that support business priorities.

- Record journal entries, maintain general ledger accuracy, and oversee recurring tasks tied to the monthly close.

- Complete account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations, while tracking daily cash activity and resolving discrepancies promptly.

- Administer fixed asset accounting by maintaining asset records and updating depreciation schedules.

- Review financial results, identify trends or variances, and communicate key findings and recommendations to management.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

- Advanced Excel skills, with prior experience using Sage preferred.

- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail in day-to-day work.

- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced setting.
