The Office of Student Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Penn State Harrisburg is seeking a motivated and passionate student worker to support the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Coordinator. This opening offers a unique opportunity to engage in meaningful work that promotes an inclusive campus environment through planning events and supporting various DEIB initiatives.
Job Duties- Assist the DEIB Coordinator in the planning, organization, and execution of events and programs that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging within the campus community.
- Collaborate with student organizations, faculty, and staff to enhance participation in DEIB initiatives.
- Provide support in creation of promotional materials, including, but not limited to flyers and social media campaigns to raise awareness of DEIB events and resources.
- Support research projects on best practices and emerging trends in diversity and inclusion to inform office initiatives.
- Assist in gathering and analyzing feedback from events and initiatives to improve future programming.
- Support other office functions and projects as assigned by the DEIB Coordinator.
- Current student at Penn State Harrisburg, with a strong interest in diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and social media platforms.
- Prior experience with event planning or involvement in diversity-related activities is a plus.
- Gain practical experience in event planning and DEIB initiatives.
