Schneider Electric has a great opportunity for a Safety Engineering Intern in our Middletown, PA facility starting in August 2026 for the Fall 2026 semester. This on-site, part-time position requires the ideal candidate to be located within the general area. No visa sponsorship or relocation assistance will be provided for this role. You'll gain hands-on experience supporting environmental, health, and safety initiatives while working alongside experienced professionals who are invested in your development. What will you do:
Assist with risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to identify and mitigate workplace hazards. Support the development and implementation of site-specific safety training programs. Help digitize Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) documentation and improve record management processes. Contribute to projects focused on mitigating and managing the site's top safety hazards. Lead and support 5S safety initiatives to improve workplace organization and safety performance.
Participate in ergonomic assessments and recommend improvements to help reduce workplace injuries. Assist with Environmental Health & Safety program reviews and continuous improvement activities. Support Behavior-Based Safety initiatives to promote a strong safety culture across the facility. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and seasoned professionals on a variety of safety-related projects and initiatives. What qualifications will make you successful:
Genuine interest in Environmental Health, Safety, and Engineering with a desire to learn and grow. Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field. Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail in all tasks. Excellent communication and collaboration skills. Team-oriented approach and comfort working under guidance and supervision. Ability to analyze data, identify risks, and support problem-solving efforts.
Proactive attitude and willingness to embrace new challenges and responsibilities.
Experience with Microsoft Office applications is preferred. What's in it for me:
