The Preschool Pre-K Special Educator provides specialized educational services to children with disabilities in an early childhood setting to meet the developmental learning needs of these children. Essential duties include complying with school board policies and state laws, maintaining confidentiality, employing special educational strategies, instructing students using various techniques, developing individualized education programs (IEPs), teaching socially acceptable behavior, planning developmentally appropriate activities, establishing rules for behavior, meeting with parents to discuss progress, conferring with professionals to develop IEPs, maintaining accurate student records, establishing clear lesson objectives, providing crisis intervention, assisting in data collection, serving on multidisciplinary teams, and continuing professional development.
Job Requirements- Valid R.I. Teaching Certification – Early Childhood Education
- Valid R.I. Teaching Certification – Early Childhood Special Education
- Master's degree preferred
- Documentation of a clear BCI/FBI report
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required
