The building-based substitute teacher provides instruction, encourages student progress, and manages the learning environment, enabling each child to pursue his/her education as smoothly and completely as possible in the absence of the regular teacher. Building-based subs will be used to support each school and serve as substitute teachers. When not needed as substitutes, they can be used to support teachers with small groups of students or individual students and/or cover teacher duties.
Building-based subs will be granted an automatic interview for any position for which they are certified. Building-based subs will be paid $160 per day and receive no health benefits. Building-based subs can voluntarily participate in any PD sessions. Building-based subs will be considered for any long-term sub position for the school year. This is a different position from day-to-day substitute positions.

Successful interview. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Screening Committee may find appropriate.
