Electrical Engineer – Advanced Defense Systems

Design. Build. Test. Make an Impact.

We’re seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a highly skilled engineering team supporting next‑generation defense and maritime technologies. In this role, you’ll work across the full hardware lifecycle—concept, design, integration, and test—on complex electrical and electronic subsystems used in automated test platforms and embedded systems. If you enjoy hands‑on engineering, solving real‑world problems, and seeing your designs move from schematic to system-level validation, this is a role where your work truly matters.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, document, and evaluate a wide range of electrical and electronic subsystems supporting automated test platforms and embedded systems.
  • Perform hands‑on engineering across multiple domains, including:
    • High‑ and low‑voltage power electronics
    • Electrical power distribution and regulation
    • Control and automation circuitry
    • Mixed analog/digital circuit design
    • Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design, layout, and integration
    • Signal acquisition and processing
    • Basic embedded software development
    • Custom cable routing, design, and fabrication
  • Develop and test electronics for underwater embedded platforms, data‑collection devices, and ground‑based test systems supporting maritime and defense applications.
  • Create schematics and PCB layouts using Altium, producing clear, manufacturable design documentation.
  • Own your designs end‑to‑end—generating and maintaining requirements, design specifications, schematics, BOMs, mechanical layouts, and test documentation.
  • Maintain detailed design records to support configuration management, traceability, and version control.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues at both the component and system level to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and engage with customers to understand requirements, propose solutions, and provide technical updates.
What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in hardware or electrical design roles.
  • Strong background in electronics design for test systems, power conversion, signal amplification, filtering, and digital signal handling.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout using industry‑standard tools (Altium preferred).
  • Hands‑on prototyping experience, including soldering, cable fabrication, circuit debugging, and benchtop testing.
  • Experience using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, waveform generators, spectrum/network analyzers, DMMs, and power supplies.
  • Proven troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose complex, integrated systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and technical data packages.

Preferred Experience

  • Mixed‑signal design (analog and digital)
  • FPGA or programmable logic exposure (Xilinx, Verilog/VHDL a plus)
  • SPICE‑based circuit simulation
  • Automated test systems (e.g., National Instruments Test Stand, LabVIEW)
  • Cable and harness design
  • Systems engineering processes and milestone reviews
  • Configuration and lifecycle management tools (ARAS Innovator, Windchill, SVN)
  • Experience supporting maritime, Navy, or defense programs
Why Join Us?
  • Work on mission‑critical systems that support national defense and advanced maritime technology.
  • Access to state‑of‑the‑art tools, labs, and resources to help you do your best work.
  • A highly technical, collaborative environment where engineering excellence is valued.
  • Opportunities to expand your skill set across hardware, systems, and test engineering.
  • The satisfaction of seeing your designs move from concept to deployment.
If you’re an Electrical Engineer who thrives in hands‑on, technically challenging environments and wants to make a tangible impact, we’d love to hear from you.
