We are seeking a Test Engineer to join our Physical Sciences & Systems business unit located a short distance from seaside Newport, Rhode Island.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, execution of test plans for Linux & VxWorks software development efforts, hardware & software integration, and test planning and development.

The ideal candidate enjoys a multi‑disciplinary role and is comfortable adapting to and identifying new technologies as needed.

• Develop test plans, test procedures, and test tools for multiple programs
• Perform testing of both hardware and software systems, isolate failures, and propose solutions
• Interface with DoD clients during formal sell‑off test events and integration test periods
• Work closely with development teams when bugs are identified to track and resolve issues
• Track requirements and verify testing outcomes

• An active DoD Secret clearance (cleared before day 1 of the assignment)
• BS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline and 8 years of experience, OR MS with degree and 5 years of experience
• Test execution experience in software environments and documentation of test results; experience with test tracking software tools
• Position may require some overnight travel; higher clearance (Secret or above) is required

• Experience and knowledge of software development in C and with embedded systems
• Experience working with Atlassian toolset (Jira, Confluence)
• Experience in QA or configuration management; strong understanding of SDLC practices

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD – 204,500 USD, a good‑faith estimate that reflects all experience levels. Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, employee assistance programs, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Compensation may also include annual short‑term and/or long‑term incentive programs, depending on level and collective‑bargaining status.
