Qualifications

U.S. citizenship
Active/Current DoD Confidential Personnel Clearance (PCL) required
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 2 years of relevant experience; an advanced degree may substitute for additional years of experience
Hands‑on mechanical aptitude and willingness to work in a lab environment

Key Responsibilities

Perform instrumentation planning and conduct all hardware tests, including vibration, mechanical shock, temperature, altitude, humidity and structural testing
Acquire and analyze dynamic and thermal data
Coordinate test fixture design
Work independently and take ownership of program/project to achieve schedule, financial and technical goals
Prepare test plans, schedules, test reports and technical documentation
Collaborate with design engineering, structural analysis personnel, manufacturing engineering and commercial customers
Provide technical expertise to programs as needed
Provide factory and supplier testing support domestically and internationally
Generate detailed archival technical reports
Travel to test sites for support of testing or design discussion (as required)
Travel to domestic Raytheon sites, suppliers and government facilities

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering; ABET accreditation preferred but not required
Experience in hardware and environmental testing (dynamic shock/vibration, climatic, structural)
Experience in signal processing, data acquisition, field test instrumentation or structural testing
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment and independently
Experience with solid modeling CAD tools such as CREO or equivalent
Experience with Matlab
Experience presenting to external customers

Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Willingness and ability to travel to government and other facilities in support of program activities
