Senior Software Test Engineer; Onsite

RTX Corporation seeks a Test Engineer for its Physical Sciences & Systems business unit located in Middletown, Rhode Island (US-RI-MIDDLETOWN).

Role type:
Onsite. The successful candidate must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. person with an active, transferable Secret security clearance at the time of hire.

• Develop test plans, test procedures, and test tools for multiple programs.
• Perform testing of hardware and software systems, isolate failures, and propose solutions.
• Interface with DoD clients during formal sell‑off test events and integration test periods.
• Collaborate with development teams to track, document, and resolve bugs.
• Track and verify requirements throughout the testing lifecycle.
• Occasional overnight travel may be required.

• Typically requires a STEM degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 3 years of experience.
• In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
• Active, transferable Secret security clearance, obtained prior to start date.
• Experience executing tests in software environments and documenting results.
• Proficiency with test tracking software tools.
• Experience and knowledge of C programming for embedded systems is preferred.
• Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) is preferred.
• Experience in QA or configuration management is preferred.
