Nature of Role
MIKEL is seeking a mid to senior-level professional to lead and execute test and evaluation (T&E) initiatives for U.S. Navy undersea warfare systems. This role focuses on validating system performance through rigorous testing and signal analysis to ensure our innovative solutions meet mission requirements.
Responsibilities- Lead and execute Integration testing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for undersea warfare components to verify technical specifications.
- Perform detailed signal analysis using MATLAB to validate system performance against established benchmarks during test events.
- Oversee the technical operation and evaluation of the AN/SQQ-89 SONAR system during developmental and experimental test phases.
- Monitor and analyze data from Towed Array and Sonobuoy Processing Systems to identify system anomalies or optimization opportunities.
- Coordinate with AEGIS Combat System engineers to verify successful data integration and sensor interoperability.
- Utilize the U.S. Navy Preventative Maintenance System (PMS) and Combat System Operational Sequencing System (CSOSS) to maintain strict configuration control.
- Manage Work Authorization Form (WAF) procedures to ensure safety during invasive testing or hardware installations.
- Draft comprehensive test reports and technical documentation to communicate findings to Department of Defense stakeholders.
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET Security Clearance; clearance is required at the time of hire.

. - Proficiency in LINUX environments and advanced capabilities in MATLAB for signal analysis and data visualization.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting and team collaboration.
- Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to support off‑site testing at sea or at vendor facilities.
- Knowledge of Navy maintenance and safety protocols, including PMS
, CSOSS
, and WAF procedures.
- Professional: 10–15 years of direct experience in technical/tactical SONAR system operations, with a specific focus on system testing and evaluation.
- Education (Preferred):
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and military technical experience.
Middletown, RI. This is an on‑site position with minimal‑to‑no telework available.
