Job Title
Responsibilities
Engineering Model and Drawing Support
Interface with the Code 3433 Solidworks PDM Vault when designing and updating models for Sensors products
Update models for all Sensors products in the Solidworks PDM Vault, as necessary
Upon model update, ensure the associated PDF drawing(s) are available on the Sensors sharepoint, which will allow all end-users the ability to retrieve the most current revision
Periodically perform an audit of all Solidworks PDM Vault configurations of Sensors drawings against the PDF available on the Sensors sharepoint
Lead and manage all Sensors drawings-related tasking assigned by the Configuration Review Board (CRB)
Complete all Sensors-generated OQE necessary for drawing/model update per Sensors Documentation Control SOP
Perform peer review on newly created or revised engineering drawings and models prior to release. Peer review includes GD&T review, notes review, and general drawing conformance review.
Design Support
Design, model, and prototype new Sensors products including laboratory-use special support equipment and production-related fixturing
Provide mechanical analysis and review of all contractor-developed design of Sensors products
Procurement Support
Evaluate incoming material procured for Sensors production. This evaluation includes visual inspection, test fit, and dimensional/Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) analysis.
Evaluate vendor-provided test data of production-related material including CMM data of machined parts, hydrostatic test data, and material analysis reports
Provide recommendations of acceptance or rejection of production-related material including performance impacts of any discovered non-conformances
Coordinate with vendors regarding procurement of new material specifically to include providing clarifications to NUWC-provided drawings and addressing any vendor concerns both pre and post contract award
Complete all Sensors-generated OQE necessary for product acceptance or rejection per Sensors Quality Management System (QMS)
Interface with vendors of Sensors production-related material to discuss requirements and quote generation, specifically to include composites and machined parts
Production Support
Provide production support and recommendations to Sensors production team regarding assembly concerns and complications during assembly of Sensors products
Provide review and redline of assembly procedures of Sensors products as related to mechanical properties, as necessary
Provide review and redline of performance specifications of Sensors products as related to mechanical properties, as necessary
Assist with assembly of Sensors products, as necessary
Provide evaluation of fielded Sensors products for compliance with mechanical-related specifications and report any deficiencies or concerns
Coordinate evaluation and repair of Sensors production-related material, specifically to include composites and machined parts
Installation Support
Provide support to various shipyard locations during the installation of various Sensors products onto both new construction and modernization platforms
Qualifications
Required Skills
Bachelor's Degree and 0-2 years experience
Proficiency with Solidworks 3D CAD Design Software and PDM Vault
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Software Suite
Proficiency understanding and evaluating engineering drawings, designs, and models
Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Proficiency evaluating various objective quality evidence (OQE) including test data and material analysis/chemical breakdown reports
Proficiency with various test, measurement, and diagnostic equipment (TMDE) including calipers, micrometers, and other dimensional analysis devices
Active Secret level security clearance
Familiarity with Electronic Warfare and NUWC Code 34 mission
Accounts for various computer systems utilized by Code 34 including NMCI NIPR, NMCI SIPR, ESM, and NREN
Equal Pay Act
This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
