What You Will Do- Create the vision and secure funding for new concepts.
- Lead multiple, multi‑million‑dollar R&D and transition programs.
- Plan and execute field tests on land or at sea.
- Regularly meet or exceed the metrics of challenging R&D programs.
- Handle complex technical challenges while helping researchers focus on technical work and the big picture of their efforts.
- Travel to partner, customer and corporate sites.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree with minimum 7 years of experience.
- In the absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience required.
- 10+ years of experience related to physical sciences, mechanical engineering, sensing and signal processing, acoustics, or a related discipline.
- Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued secret security clearance required prior to start date.
- Fluent in at least one commonly used programming language such as Python, Matlab, C, or C++.
- Experience forming and leading teams of scientists and engineers through the full lifecycle of technology development.
- PhD in physical sciences or engineering.
- Successful capture of new R&D contracts from U.S. Government customers such as DARPA, ONR, or U.S. Navy PMOs.
- Previous experience working within research and development engineering organizations.
- Competitive salary range: $132,400 – $251,600 USD.

This position is onsite at our Middletown, RI headquarters. The role is U.S.
-based; appropriate pay structure and benefits apply for employees residing in U.S. territories.
