Job Title
Mechanical Engineer – Undersea E/O Systems
Responsibilities- Research, design, analyze, integrate, and test electromagnetic and electro‑optical (E/O) systems and components in support of undersea Electronic Warfare, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems.
- Develop innovative solutions to complex problems using advanced consulting and extensive technical expertise.
- Plan, conduct, and direct research or development projects, including origination and application of new and unique approaches.
- Mentor and supervise team members, providing technical inspiration, leadership, and consultation to professional co‑workers.
- Exercise wide latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions in support of mission objectives.
- Knowledge of research and development methodologies applicable to undersea technologies.
- Knowledge of undersea warfare and naval systems.
- Knowledge of processes for integration of new systems into submarines.
- Knowledge of electromagnetics and E/O in physical mediums.
- Knowledge of the Naval Research and Development Enterprise (NRDE).
- Ability to convey complex technical and system constructs across a diverse and integrated science, engineering, and acquisition team.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, or Master’s degree and 2+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, or Doctorate degree in Engineering.
- Ability to translate complex data or content into digestible terms for layman audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership and original contributions in the professional field.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Secret clearance.
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
CompensationSalary range: $61,900.00 to $ (annualized USD). Additional benefits include health, life, disability, financial, retirement, paid leave, professional development, tuition assistance, work‑life programs, and dependent care. Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week qualify for the benefit program.
