Mechanical Engineer – Undersea E/O Systems

• Research, design, analyze, integrate, and test electromagnetic and electro‑optical (E/O) systems and components in support of undersea Electronic Warfare, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems.
• Develop innovative solutions to complex problems using advanced consulting and extensive technical expertise.
• Plan, conduct, and direct research or development projects, including origination and application of new and unique approaches.
• Mentor and supervise team members, providing technical inspiration, leadership, and consultation to professional co‑workers.
• Exercise wide latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions in support of mission objectives.

• Knowledge of research and development methodologies applicable to undersea technologies.
• Knowledge of undersea warfare and naval systems.
• Knowledge of processes for integration of new systems into submarines.
• Knowledge of electromagnetics and E/O in physical mediums.
• Knowledge of the Naval Research and Development Enterprise (NRDE).
• Ability to convey complex technical and system constructs across a diverse and integrated science, engineering, and acquisition team.
• Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, or Master’s degree and 2+ years of experience in Mechanical Engineering, or Doctorate degree in Engineering.

• Ability to translate complex data or content into digestible terms for layman audiences.
• Demonstrated leadership and original contributions in the professional field.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Secret clearance.

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary range: $61,900.00 to $ (annualized USD). Full‑time and part‑time employees working at least 20 hours a week qualify for the benefit program.
