Position Summary:
Ability to work with and integrate learning objectives with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver trauma informed care, support and services to Lucy’s Hearth Family Shelter residents; children, youth, and adults, who are experiencing homelessness. Complete intake assessments, safety plans and referrals for residents. Provide trauma informed care with Lucy’s Hearth families, develop and implement trauma informed programming to residents.
Specific Duties / Responsibilties:
Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team to support residents of Lucy’s Hearth.
Initiate and support a Resident Council Develop and implement onsite resident support and educational groups for children and adults.
Participates in resident activity planning
Support Case Management activities as needed.
Collaborate with other service providers to ensure clients/families needs are being met.
Schedules appointments with clients and families based on clients’ needs.
Maintains visible presence at facility to encourage resident engagement.
Maintains confidentiality of clients and families.
Provides sensitivity to clients and families cultural, ethnic, racial and socioeconomic issues and diversity.
Serves as a positive role model to clients and colleagues.
Completes all professional and administrative documentation and forms in accordance with agency standards and within established guidelines and time frames.
Assist Lucy’s Hearth Team to ensure the health and safety of all residents.
Participates in community collaborations and relevant committees as needed.
Provides clinical and administrative supervisors required documentation as related to learning objectives and assignments.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Participating in an accredited university human and/or social services academic program.
Training in trauma-informed care is strongly preferred.
Experience working with families experiencing homelessness.
Possession of a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and proof of automobile insurance required.
Bilingual skills highly desired.
