Job Responsibilities Include- Build, Secure, and Maintain
:
System administration tasks, upgrades, security hardening, and maintenance of critical systems, including hardware and software components. - Network Architect
:
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network switches, ensuring a robust and secure network infrastructure. - Security Champion
:
Implement and maintain security best practices, including DISA STIGs, and contribute to our compliance with NIST 800‑53, NIST 800‑171, and CMMC frameworks. - Troubleshoot and Resolve
:
Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal system performance. - Documentation Master
:
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of internal processes, procedures, and system configurations. - On‑Site Support
:
Travel to customer locations for system installations, upgrades, and repairs (approximately 5% travel). - End User Support
:
Provide end‑user support for system‑related issues, ensuring a positive user experience.
- Solid understanding of interfacing subsystems, hardware, and software components.
- Proficiency in Shell/Bash scripting for automation and system management.
- Deep understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration and networking principles.
- Proven ability to build systems from the ground up and effectively troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Ability to understand requirements, perform analysis, and document software or system requirements.
- Ability to design and develop solutions both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent multitasking and time management skills.
- Ability to clearly document technical solutions for both internal and external audiences.
- Extensive experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) in an enterprise environment.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, KVM).
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker or Podman.
- Working knowledge of Cisco and Arista network switches.
- Experience creating RPM packages for software deployment.
- Experience automating IT tasks using Ansible.
- Experience creating Kickstart installation media.
- Hands‑on experience implementing DISA STIGs for systems and network devices.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks, including NIST 800‑53, NIST 800‑171, and CMMC.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Networking, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent experience, including advanced military technical training (e.g., Navy "C" School) with demonstrated capabilities, will also be considered. CompTIA Security+ certification is required or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.
Experience:
Systems Administrator I:
Degree Only.
Systems Administrator II: 3+ years of relevant experience.
Systems Administrator III: 7+ years of relevant experience.
Military service or applicable experience can be substituted at a rate of 2 years of service/experience for each year of degree requirement.
Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret-level DoD security clearance are required. A current clearance is highly preferred.
