RTX BBN Technologies is hiring an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) at its Middletown, RI location. The ISSO bridges the gap between high‑level security policies and technical implementation, working closely with the Information System Security Manager, engineers, system administrators, and users throughout the development lifecycle. The role requires a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret clearance and is a full‑time onsite position (40 hrs/week).

• Implement and maintain security programs in a classified environment.
• Conduct compliance‑based auditing using RMF, NISPOM, DCSA assessment manuals, and other DoD security standards.
• Document evaluation results and produce security assessment reports.
• Assist in the execution of Assessment & Authorization processes, including risk management and incident response handling.
• Support system hardening, vulnerability analysis, and SIEM tool usage such as Splunk.

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years of experience in implementing a security program in a classified environment, or an advanced degree with 0–1 year of experience in industrial security or a similar field (five years of related experience satisfies the degree requirement).
• Active and transferable Secret clearance (or a clearance pending acquisition prior to start).
• Knowledge of RMF, NISPOM, DAAPM, DAAG, JSIG, ICD‑503, NIST publications, and SCI manuals.
• Certifications meeting or exceeding DoDD 8140/8570 IAM Level I functional and baseline requirements (Security+ and in pursuit of IAM Level II preferred).

• Experience in executing the assessment and authorization processes defined within RMF.
• Familiarity with STIGs, SCAP, vulnerability analysis, and mitigation tools.
• Experience in a DoD classified environment interpreting and implementing security requirements.
• Knowledge of cyber incident response procedures (preservation, containment, eradication).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly for documentation.
