Information Systems Security Officer

Role Overview

RTX BBN has an immediate opening for an Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO). The ISSO bridges the gap between high‑level security policies and the technical implementation of those requirements. The ISSO works closely with the Information System Security Manager, Information System Security Engineer, system administrators, and users throughout the lifecycle of programs.

Location:

Middletown, RI. Candidates must be available to work forty hours per week onsite and may be required to travel up to ten percent of the time.

• Bachelor’s Degree with two years of experience implementing a security program in a classified environment, or an advanced degree with zero–one year’s experience in Industrial Security, Information Assurance/Cyber, Special Programs, or military/government information security programs.
• Five years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Active and transferable U.S. government‑issued security clearance prior to start date; U.S. citizenship is required.
• Compliance‑based auditing experience using the RMF, NISPOM, DCSA Assessment and Authorization Process Manual (DAAPM), DCSA Assessment and Authorization Guide (DAAG), Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG), DoD Manuals, and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) manuals.
• Certifications equivalent to or exceeding DoDD 8140 (8570) IAM LevelI functional and baseline certification requirements.
• Knowledge and/or experience with STIGs, SCAP, Splunk or other system hardening and compliance tools, vulnerability assessment, and/or SIEM tools.

• Experience in the execution of Assessment & Authorization processes as defined within RMF.
• Familiarity with RMF and compliance as stipulated by NISPOM/DAAPM, JSIG, ICD
  503, STIGs, and associated NIST publications.
• Experience with security tools that address vulnerability analysis and mitigation.
• Experience working in a DoD classified environment interpreting, implementing, and assessing requirements.
• Familiarity with the execution and management of cyber incident response, preservation, containment, and eradication.
• Self‑motivated with exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in documenting evaluation results.
• Customer focused, adaptable, and willing to work varying assignments.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
• Desired certifications:
  Security+, CISM, CISS.
