Certified Medicine Technician

Advance in your nursing career and join the John Clarke team as a Certified Medicine Technician where you will administer medications and treatments within the standards of practice as per certification permissions and state regulations.

Position Highlights:

• Prepares and administers routine and PRN medications to patients as prescribed by the physician and documents administration per John Clarke policies
• Maintains medication supply, cleans and restocks medicine carts and medicine room. Notifies pharmacy of new medication orders and refill.
• Performs accurate vital sign monitoring when indicated by drug therapy
• Maintains current knowledge of medications and investigates unknown medications before administration

Qualifications:

• Completion of a state-approved medicine course with a passing grade is required
• Completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant program is required
• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant with one year of experience in nursing
• Must attend a minimum of 16 hours continuing education programs provided by the center in order to maintain certification
