Deli Clerk Part Time

Job Summary

Slices, packages, weighs, and sells various deli products including meats and cheeses while maintaining presentation and cleanliness of the deli section. Provides assistance to members, manages deli displays, and supports club policies and compliance. Works collaboratively with the team to deliver excellent member service, uphold safety, and meet daily operational standards.

• Provides a high level of customer service to members.
• Answers questions and recommends deli items.
• Takes member calls and special orders.
• Slices, packages, and weighs deli products, including cheeses and meats.
• Assists members in selecting the correct products and samples products for purchasing decisions.
• Prepares and packages special orders and party trays.
• Receives and inspects deli shipments.
• Displays, stocks, rotates, and stores deli products following food safety and freshness policies.
• Monitors product freshness, removes out‑of‑date items, and applies salvage procedures.
• Ensures deli cooler shelves and display cases maintain a wide variety of products.
• Operates deli equipment in accordance with safety procedures.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment and food surfaces throughout the department.
• Maintains scale systems and ensures accurate weighing and pricing.
• Adheres to all club policies and procedures.
• Performs additional duties as assigned, including work in other departments.

• Work experience in a deli department preferred.
• Experience operating manual or power slicers and scales preferred.
• Knowledge of deli products preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Work involves frequent movement on hard surfaces, bending, reaching, stooping, and lifting up to 30 pounds. Some tasks may require lifting heavier or awkward objects with assistance. The environment includes exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers, as well as cleaning agents.

Pay range: $17.25 – $21.13 per hour, depending on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
