You will support the migration and modernization of legacy test systems, help translate and reverse‑engineer existing PASCAL routines into contemporary languages such as C++, LabVIEW, and Test Stand, and verify the software you develop through thorough testing and checkout.

Over time, you will grow into a subject matter expert for multiple ATE systems, supporting both new designs and ongoing sustainment efforts. You will collaborate closely with a team of skilled, self‑motivated engineers to create state‑of‑the‑art test systems that help modernize critical government technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and test software solutions for automated test equipment (ATE) systems used with Naval hardware.
  • Work hands‑on with Naval hardware and Automated Test Equipment systems to support integration, verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Support the design, development, and maintenance of ATE software, with the opportunity to grow into a leading role on key projects.
  • Read, translate, and reverse‑engineer legacy PASCAL software routines into modern supported languages including C++, LabVIEW, and Test Stand.
  • Perform testing and checkout of newly developed or migrated software to ensure functionality, reliability, and accuracy.
  • Analyze technical documentation to understand the operation and function of legacy systems in order to modernize and improve their design.
  • Become a subject matter expert on the software for multiple ATE systems, supporting both new design efforts and long‑term sustainment.
  • Collaborate with a team of skilled, self‑motivated peers to design and implement state‑of‑the‑art test systems.
  • Apply strong knowledge of electrical test and measurement concepts to develop and validate automated test solutions.
  • Support code migration and hardware integration activities involving National Instruments platforms such as PXI, LabVIEW, and Test Stand.
Essential Skills
  • At least 4 years of experience designing software solutions for automated test equipment (ATE) systems.
  • Strong working knowledge of concepts related to electrical test and measurement.
  • Hands‑on experience with Automated Test Equipment, including software and hardware integration.
  • Proficiency with National Instruments products, including PXI, LabVIEW, and Test Stand.
  • Experience with test engineering and electrical testing in a hardware‑focused environment.
  • Proficiency in C++ for test software development and code migration.
  • Experience working with test equipment and automated test systems in a production or R&D setting.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret technical documentation for legacy systems and apply it to modernization efforts.
  • Eligibility to obtain a security clearance up to the level of SECRET.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or another engineering discipline combined with multiple years of software development experience.
