SEACORP's Electronic Warfare Business Area is seeking a mid‑level Software Engineer. The candidate will be responsible for, or act as, the technical lead for tasking, collaborate and interact with customers and colleagues, require creative thinking and problem‑solving abilities, as well as strong organizational and presentation skills. This ideal candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work efficiently under pressure, and be self‑motivated.
- Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
- Work with other functional disciplines (e.g., project management, acquisition, logistics, security) to integrate hardware and software systems, develop specifications, and performance requirements.
- Maintain databases within an application area.
- Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware, or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
- Analyze information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
- Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements, or resolve customer problems.
- Direct software programming and development of documentation.
- Store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.
- Confer with data processing or project managers to obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects.
- Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance.
- Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.
Education: Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical/Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a field of concentration in Computer Science and 10+ years of experience.
Experience: 10 years of relevant experience.
Additional
Skills and Experience:
- Proficient in C++ software development and designing software using Unified Modeling Language (UML).
- Proficient in a Linux development environment and writing software requirements and design documentation.
- Experience with Qt Framework, writing Software Requirements Document (SRS) and Software Design Document (SDD), and using Data Distribution Protocol (DDS).
U.S. citizenship and current DOD Secret clearance are required.
