Accounting Specialist
The Accounting Specialist will support day-to-day accounting operations within the client's finance department. This person will assist with accounting transaction processing, reconciliations, financial data entry, documentation, and general accounting support. The job description is broad, but the client emphasized they are looking for someone with both AP and AR exposure, even though the person may not own both functions directly.
Key Responsibilities
- Record and reconcile daily financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense-related activity.
- Process invoices, payments, receipts, and related documentation.
- Accurately enter financial data into accounting software and maintain data integrity.
- Assist with financial statements, reports, reconciliations, and analysis as needed.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including general ledger account reconciliations.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
- Respond to vendor, client, and internal department inquiries related to billing, payment, and accounting issues.
- Monitor and distribute correspondence from company accounting email boxes.
- Assist with expense reports and employee reimbursement requests.
- Work closely with internal departments to support accounting operations and resolve issues.
- Identify and recommend process improvements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Document processes and assist with training when needed.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Must haves:
- Completed Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required
- Accounting experience with AP and/or AR exposure.
- 2+ years of accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work onsite five days per week.
Hours:
Hiring for first shift! Must be flexible to work Monday-Friday
** Onsite role. Must be willing to commute to the office in Midland, MI**

This is a Contract position based out of Midland, MI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
