TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Manager Handbook. Salary range B: $85,470- $100,552. Year round position-full time. Hours during summer may vary, as determined by District administration.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Manager of Fiscal Services is responsible for oversight of the day-to-day business office operations including payroll, purchasing, accounts receivable, benefits and accounts payable. This individual assists with the oversight of the school lunch program and year-end audit. The Manager is responsible for maintaining an efficient office operation by exhibiting proper management of time and materials and good public relations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Education:
- Required:
Associate’s degree in accounting, business, or related field with coursework in accounting - Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business management, or related field with coursework in accounting. May consider experience in lieu of education
- Demonstrated Technical
Skills: - Advanced level computer skills using Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel), Google Workspace and other computerized finance systems
- Ability to create, manage and troubleshoot formulas and functions in a spreadsheet
- Abilityto quickly learn and support new software
- Proficient in accounting for public school districts in accordance with the Bulletin 1022, “Michigan Public School Accounting Manual”
- Proficient in fund accounting, grant accounting, general ledger accounting, and bank reconciliations
- Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw logical conclusions
- Experience:
- Preferred: A minimum of three years’ accounting experience in a Michigan public school district
- Preferred:
Experience with MUNIS software - Public Relations
Skills:
Ability to relate to school age children, parents, teachers, and members of the community - Knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, payroll, and benefits
- Experience with year-end accounting transactions and preparation for year-end audit
- Ability to compile financial data and prepare financial reports
- Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and policies
- Possess excellent customer service skills including interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills skills and the ability to maintain a calm and professional image
- Ability to work with a high degree of detail under the pressure of externally imposed deadlines and with frequent interruption
- Ability to work with considerable independent judgment and professional knowledge in the areas of fund accounting, accounting principles, and general ledger accounting with knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, purchasing, payroll, benefits, and year-end procedures
- Ability to demonstrate initiative and resourcefulness
- Demonstrated knowledge of full general ledger requirements
- Ability to work with an integrated accounting system with a specific understanding of the effects on transactions and their impact on financial records
- Ability to solve complex problems logically and effectively, to work independently, to manage multiple tasks, and demonstrate effective time management skills
- Ability to establish rapport and maintain appropriate relationships with students, staff, and parents
- Possess sound, independent judgment, including handling of confidential matters
- Ability to adapt to changes in plans or activities on short notice
