Job Summary

The Special Education Paraprofessional works one-on-one with students receiving special education support.

Assignment Information
  • Part-Time
  • Up to 29 Hours/Week
  • Monday - Friday (when instruction is in session)
  • $15.50/Hour - Starting wage is based on the current Midland Federation of Paraprofessionals Master Bargaining Agreement
Assignment Functions and Responsibilities

The job is not limited to any or all of the following functions and responsibilities:

  • 1:1 Student Support
  • Lunch Supervision
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Education
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR/First Aid certified (preferred; willing to be provided training)
  • Must be Highly Qualified
    • Completed at least two years of college coursework with 60+ credits
    • Hold an Associate's Degree or higher
    • Para Pro Assessment - Qualifying score of 460+
  • The ETS Para Pro Assessment is a general aptitude test used to assess the skills and knowledge of prospective and practicing paraprofessionals in areas like reading, writing, and math, according to ETS. It's designed to determine if individuals possess the necessary abilities to effectively assist teachers in classroom instruction.

  • Ability to assist with personal care needs
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, and walk frequently
  • Some lifting may be required
  • Experience and/or knowledge of behavioral management techniques
