Instructors are responsible for establishing and promoting an effective learning environment to maximize student learning. They should be able to deliver course content in a classroom setting as well as in a hands‑on lab setting to skilled trades employees including sponsored DOL apprentices.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities- Understanding of and ability to work with a diverse student population
- Use of email, internet‑based resources, and common Office software
- Ability to teach in a variety of formats, including incorporating online learning systems
- Understanding of ADA requirements and willingness to create accessible materials
- Effective interpersonal skills
- Develop and write course content including outcomes and objectives for approval by Delta College
- Develop daily lesson plans including instructional aids for future Delta College use
- Incorporate field experience and technical knowledge into student presentations that emphasize interactive, hands‑on practice
- Five (5) years’ experience in Industrial Process Instrumentation
- Associate’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent Journeyman’s Card
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or education
- Journeyman’s card in instrumentation
- Previous experience in teaching and class development
