Pay Rate: $16/Hour - starting wage is based on the current Midland Federation of Paraprofessionals Master Bargaining Agreement
SUMMARY
The Student Resource Center Facilitator implements the activities of the Student Resource Center (SRC) and other related activities that support student success. The SRC is an intervention within the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework. The SRC Facilitator supports students in developing and practicing skills in the areas of responsible thinking and decision making, forming positive relationships, managing conflict productively, recognizing and managing emotions, restoring damaged relationships, and other life skills.
The SRC Facilitator also supports students in maintaining attendance at school and developing positive healthy habits for school success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitate the activities of the School Resource Center (SRC) to promote positive and appropriate student behavior and attendance ivities and strategies include but are not limited to: restorative practices, social emotional and behavioral practices, trauma informed practices, responsible thinking and decision making practices, reflection, personal responsibility, time management, problem solving, and study skills
- Supervise students who are assigned to the SRC for a defined period of time such as closed class or closed lunch and those who utilize the SRC as a place to regulate and prepare to re-enter the classroom environment.
- Support students as they reintegrate into the classroom after being in the SRC
- Develop and maintain appropriate, trusting, and caring relationships with students and staff.
- Work cooperatively with teachers, other staff, students, administration, and parents/families as needed to develop and implement plans that support student success. Plans may include factors related to attendance, behavior, and academic success
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and data for the SRC as directed by administration
- Attend professional learning related to trauma informed practices, restorative practices, social emotional learning, and other topics related to the work of the SRC
- Assist staff with student attendance monitoring and related procedures
- Serve as a student advocate, provide motivational support for students to attain their goals
- Communicate with parents/families as appropriate and as directed by administration
- Assist with supervision of lunches and hallways as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Awareness of community issues and problems as they relate to our schools and students
- Experience working with students
- Basic computer skills and the ability to quickly learn school-specific software
- Demonstrated ability to follow directives and work well with others
- Obtain CPI Certification within 90 days of hire – training will be provided
- Willingness to learn the foundations of Restorative Practice structures - training will be provided
