Responsibilities

Summary of Duties:
Fulfill the role of Project Manager for plant capital and expense projects following the Global Project Methodology (Thrive). Project work is driven by capacity improvements, implementation of new technology, regulatory compliance, and general plant health. Fill other roles on the project team as needed (Project Engineer, Manufacturing Representative, Process Control Engineer, Process Engineer, etc.) depending on the project's size. Handle the organization and administrative work involved in product implementation in the plant.

Responsible for adhering to the plant capital budget, including leading prioritization activities. Track project cost on both an Accrual and Cash Out basis. Write and monitor purchase orders using SAP. Understand all applicable process technology (MASS ABS), equipment, and control technology (ABB). Work with Technical Advising and plant personnel to improve operations, meet business and plant goals, including production, cost and quality.

Participate in advance troubleshooting and coaching others to learn relevant skills. Implement best practices in operations to optimize operations. Ensure Most Effective Technology (MET), and specific Operating Discipline requirements are in place. Work with Production Technicians to initiate change to plant operating procedures to ensure they are valid and up to date. Participate in various safety related activities such as Reliability, Process Safety, LPP analysis, LOPA and Global Mechanical Integrity (GMISS) support.

Network with other engineers on site and within the global business to leverage knowledge on plant operations, such as production, improvement, etc. Communicate technical information and issue to plant personnel, Technology, or Expertise centers, such as PSTL, LPP owners, Reactive Chem, etc. Participate as a member of the plant on call rotation.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or as a Production Coordinator, Run-Pant Engineer, Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Control Engineer, or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field and two (2) years of experience in the job offered or as a Production Coordinator, Run-Pant Engineer, Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Process Control Engineer, or a related occupation.

The position requires experience (three (3) years with a Bachelor's degree or two (2) years with a Master's degree) with the following skills:
Experience in a chemical manufacturing plant which handles hazardous chemicals; and Experience with the associated safety standards related to chemical manufacturing plant operations. Must possess experience with at least three (3) of the following four (4) skills:
Mass ABS manufacturing technology and process;
Readling and light programming of ABB 800X process control systems;
Project management methodology using the Accolade tool;
Utilizing SAP to monitor projects, run cost reports, and perform Accrual and Cash Out project monitoring. The position requires experience with the following:
Engineering basics, including flow calculations, pressure drop, and other areas of Process Engineering Design;
Process Safety, such as Mechanical Integrity, LLPs, Layers of Protection analysis, and Root Cause Investigation Methodology;
Working with external contacts, such as equipment vendors, engineering design firms, general mechanical contractors, electrical, scaffolding, city engineers, etc.
