Under the supervision of the Deputy Administrator/Juvenile Attorney Referee, supervises employees engaged in providing financial and administrative services to the Probate and Family Courts. Performs administrative functions under the direction of the Probate and Family Court Judge. Coordinates the Court’s docket for the Judge and Deputy Administrator/Juvenile Attorney Referee. Plans, develops, and implements policies and office procedures to maintain compliance with work rules, statutes, and court rules.
Completes a variety of projects for the Judge and administrative staff, including creating and editing court opinions, assisting in the drafting of the budget, drafting the annual report, and preparing presentations related to Court projects and activities for multiple audiences.
Associates’ Degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, or related field and three years of progressively more responsible experience in a court or court setting and administrative practices, including supervisory experience. Valid Michigan Vehicle Operator’s License. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of the State of Michigan Probate and Family Court system, procedures and statutes, and judicial administration.
Thorough knowledge of the professional public management techniques involved in budgeting and personnel administration and resource management, and the ability to identify and implement new best practices. Considerable knowledge of Probate and Family Court rules, policies and procedures, case flow management, basic accounting principles, maintaining good public relations, and applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Skill in assembling and analyzing data, and preparing comprehensive and accurate reports.
Ability to establish effective working relationships and use good judgment, initiative and resourcefulness when dealing with County employees, contractors to the County, representatives of other governmental units, professional contacts, elected officials, and the public
Current hourly range starting at $30.00 - $39.07/hr (7-year progression) Full Time with benefits.
