Summary

This position has limited functional responsibility for individual Imaging Departments (MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and/or CT Scanning) during normal working hours.

Responsibilities include:

Maintaining daily patient schedule and workload within department; conducts operational problem solving processes to insure a uniform clinical outcome for department. Maintains appropriate staff schedule based on activity levels. Foster and promotes good communication between management, staff, physicians, internal/external departments as well as the community ponsible for the data entry and verification of staff hours in the Kronos system. Maintain high quality diagnostic skills/competency within their respective areas of responsibility.

Responsibilities
  • (40%) * Performs all technical duties/procedures in respective area. Starts I.V.’s as necessary;
    Monitor patient during imaging procedure. Reviews and documents appropriate patient information. Maintains working knowledge of imaging equipment and radiology information systems.
  • (30%) * Provides leadership and guidance to department. Maintains open interdepartmental communication to ensure quality customer care and service. Consults with Radiologists concerning procedural protocols and quality.
  • (30%) * Maintains patient schedule on a daily basis. Maintains staff work schedule based on daily workload.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintains employee time records; assists department manager with interviewing and selection of replacement staff.
  • Train staff as necessary.
  • Provide feedback to department manager on staff performance.
  • Documents, updates, verify and complete all patient demographic and clinical information in RIS, PACS, and EPIC (EMR).

Certifications and Licensures
  • ARRT MR - ARRT MRI
  • BLS - Basic Life Support
  • Required Equivalent Experience - Within 1 month of hire or transfer
Required Education
  • Associates Degree
  • Comments:
    Degree in Healthcare Related Field. Three years of technical experience in a Health Care setting of their respective modality is required. Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration is preferred.
Other Information Experience, Training, and Skills
  • ARRT registered in specific modality required.
  • Three years of technical experience in a Health Care setting of their respective modality is required.
  • Must be in good standing by their professional accrediting body.
  • Organizational, Interpersonal relations and leadership skills are required.
  • Mandatory tuberculosis (TB) testing must be done annually.
  • Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan.
Physical/Mental Requirements and Typical Working Conditions
  • Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as trauma, grief and death.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position.
  • Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the job description.
  • Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s).
  • Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching.
  • Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow My Michigan Health blood borne pathogen and TB testing as required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake.
  • Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis.
  • Physical Demand Level: Light. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 11-20 lbs., frequently (34-66% of the workday) 10 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls.
