Application Analyst II
Location: Midland, MI
SummaryThe Application Analyst II serves as an experience team member of the Applications team, responsible for supporting, enhancing, and optimizing assigned clinical and business systems. In addition to providing day-to-day incident resolution and support, the analyst II partners closely with operational stakeholders to analyze workflows, gather requirements, and implement enhancements and solutions that improve patient care and user experience. They function as a primary point of contact for application support, ensuring timely issue resolution and effective communication while upholding adherence to My Michigan Health's policies, procedures, and business operations.
This role demonstrates growing independence in managing moderately complex requests, provides input into service delivery decisions, and supports operational governance. The Analyst II actively seeks opportunities to streamline workflows and reduce unnecessary steps and suggests improvements while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and change management standards.
- Uses a strong understanding of business systems and industry requirements to work with business owners and users to document requirements and workflows. Design and maintain content and key system controls (codes tables, master files, user interfaces, etc.).
- Troubleshoots problems and incidents and recommends innovative solutions.
- Plans, executes, and documents supporting evidence of application testing.
- Collects information regarding potential system enhancement needs and analyzes new functionality in releases to determine how it should be used.
- Analyzes application capabilities to optimize its use within workflows.
- Assists in cross training team members and users.
- Participates in additional projects including software updates and changes.
- Exhibits a commitment to exceptional customer service while providing Go-Live or daily end user support and training of Applications.
- Uses an in-depth knowledge of the application systems to continually configure, test, and maintain system functionality to meet the needs of end users.
- Holds responsibility to complete complex build and configuration tasks and resolves advanced issues as they arise with minimal support from Senior Analyst and Vendors.
- Translates operational requirements into system design, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant workflows.
- Maintains accurate documentation of system configurations, changes, and support activities; creates knowledge‑based support articles to document resolutions and educate others.
- Provides consultative support to operational teams regarding system best practices and workflow design.
- Manages medium-sized requests from inception to completion with minimal support, coordinating resources and ensuring on‑time delivery.
- Acts as a liaison between IT and operational departments, facilitating conversations that balance critical priorities with technical feasibility.
- Effectively communicates status updates with leadership and subject matter experts; communicates application changes, enhancements, and procedures to relevant stakeholders.
- Provides guidance and support to less experienced analysts; shares knowledge and expertise.
- Participates in an on‑call support rotation to address urgent needs.
- Travel between My Michigan and affiliated locations may be required to support applications and Go‑Live implementations.
- Embraces the technological orientation of My Michigan Health by showcasing competency in Microsoft Windows; upon hiring, completes a Computer Skills Assessment and engages in further learning opportunities as needed.

Required EducationAssociate's degree is required. Associates degree or Bachelor's in IT, business, or healthcare field with two (2) or more years of work‑related experience providing advanced application system support.
Education, Experience, Training And Skills- One (1) or more active Epic Certification(s)/Accreditation(s) or other relevant healthcare certifications.
