Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Senior Systems Engineer, this person performs server, network, security, and telecommunications‑related technical support for the District, including routine server management, network management, archival support, telecommunications support, and expert support for technicians.

Manager of Development and Operations (Dev Ops)

Full year / 260 days / Full time

Evaluation

Annually until reaching maximum; refer to Manager Handbook.

Qualifications
  • Education: Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field required. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Power Shell experience required. Preferred:
    Bachelor's degree and certifications such as A+, ITF+, Network+, Security+, Server+, Linux+, Microsoft MCITP, or Google Certified Administrator.
  • Experience: Preferred minimum two years of related experience in Information Technology in a complex, multi‑location organization.

    Advanced computer skills and knowledge of position‑specific systems and procedures; ability to manage multiple, diverse tasks with interrelationships across functional areas; perform duties within school policies, procedures, and objectives; use judgment to achieve results in ambiguous situations; exercise independent judgment within school practices and guidelines; troubleshoot highly sensitive or confidential issues; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals; perform highly complex technical tasks with significant impact in a fast‑paced environment;

    prepare and analyze reports, make presentations, and maintain records; public‑relations skills to relate to school‑aged children, parents, teachers, and community members; possess well‑developed problem‑solving skills; handle confidential matters; adapt to changes on short notice; pass a background check.
Essential Functions
  • Provide expert‑level support for Support Services.
  • Participate in daily stand‑up meetings and periodic scrum review meetings.
  • Enter, update, and close help desk tickets in the district service management system for reference and quality control.
  • Contribute to the district knowledge management system by adding and modifying FAQ items to enhance self‑service support.
  • Maintain accurate district technology inventory.
  • Manage Linux and Windows‑based servers; manage VMware ESXi and vSphere environment; maintain SAN storage; manage Office 365 and G‑Suite tenants; manage cloud services and mobile devices.
  • Provide integration support and collaborate with other IT teams; manage security services; manage daily archives; manage telecommunications systems; manage print services.
  • Complete district‑assigned training per established deadlines.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines; maintain an organized environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents, verbally and in writing.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Fine motor skills; lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; stand or sit for long periods; stoop, squat, bend, crouch, kneel, climb stairs; ride in vehicle as necessary; work indoors during all seasons and weather conditions.
Additional Functions
  • Communicate effectively via district‑assigned email daily as determined by supervisor.
  • Accurately complete electronic time sheets and absence reporting via the timekeeping system per assigned deadlines.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance and performance of job responsibilities.
  • Perform other job responsibilities deemed appropriate by supervisor, building administrator, or Superintendent.
Compensation

Salary: $49,506 to $58,243 per year.
