Chief Executive Officer

The Chief Executive Officer serves as the organization's chief executive and provides overall leadership and direction for agency operations, programs, finances, staff, community relationships, and organizational development. The CEO works closely with the Board of Directors to advance the agency's mission and strategic plan, providing the information, recommendations, and support necessary for effective governance and decision-making. In collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services and other leadership staff, the CEO ensures that agency programs and services are effectively developed, delivered, evaluated, and continuously improved in accordance with industry best practices, legal and regulatory requirements, established policies and procedures, and the Agency Mission and Strategic Plan.

The CEO will provide executive leadership for the financial health, sustainability, and growth of the organization. Work with the Finance Director to develop and oversee the annual operating budget, monitor financial performance, ensure appropriate financial controls, oversee audits, and support the agency's long-term financial sustainability and resource development.

The CEO will serve as the chief ambassador and advocate for the agency. Serve as a primary spokesperson and community representative for the agency. Develop and maintain relationships with community partners, government agencies, funders, donors, businesses, and other stakeholders. Represent the agency in community, professional, and collaborative initiatives. Advocate for the needs of children, families, and the communities served.

Provide leadership and strategic direction for the agency's fund development efforts in collaboration with the Director of Fund Development and Community Investment, Board of Directors, and other appropriate staff. Develop and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, corporations, community leaders, and other funding partners to support the agency's mission and strategic priorities.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities to Perform the Job:

Exceptional verbal, written, interpersonal, and public communication skills
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
Demonstrated nonprofit executive leadership and organizational management
Knowledge of human-services systems, community needs, and relevant regulatory environments
Strong financial management and organizational planning skills
Ability to build effective relationships with staff, Board members, donors, funders, community partners, and government agencies
Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change and continuous improvement
Ability to inspire, develop, and hold staff accountable

Bachelor's degree, advanced degree in business, human services, public administration, nonprofit management, or a related field preferred, equivalent combination of education and relevant nonprofit leadership experience may be considered. Minimum of 7–10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience, preferably within a nonprofit or human-services organization. Demonstrated experience in organizational leadership, strategic planning, financial management, staff development, community relations, and resource development preferred.

The CEO must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to establish trust and effective working relationships with employees, Board members, clients and families, donors, funders, community leaders, government officials, partner organizations, and other stakeholders.
