Surgery - General Nurse Practitioner

Night shift Nurse Practitioner coverage for an inpatient Trauma and General Surgery service in Michigan, structured as a 7 on, 7 off rotation with no call. Work includes consults, admissions, and trauma response with surgeon backup available.

Practice Setting

• Inpatient service covering trauma and general surgery, with additional consults from urology, orthopedics, and colorectal
• Level I and Level II trauma center, you will respond to trauma activations and manage surgical floor needs overnight
• On call General Surgeon available for case discussion and escalation, supported by the surgical team
• Charting in EPIC with Dragon Dictation

Schedule

• Night shift coverage, 6p to 6a
• 7 on, 7 off ongoing rotation, must be able to cover full blocks
• No call

Cases and Procedures

• Inpatient admissions and consults for trauma and surgical services overnight
• Suturing, central lines, arterial lines
• Tube placement including chest tubes
• Troubleshooting foley catheters and managing continuous bladder irrigation

Requirements

• Must be a Nurse Practitioner
• Michigan license required
• Board certified
• Case log showing at least 50 cases in the last 12 months
