Night shift Nurse Practitioner coverage for an inpatient Trauma and General Surgery service in Michigan, structured as a 7 on, 7 off rotation with no call. Work includes consults, admissions, and trauma response with surgeon backup available.
Practice Setting
- Inpatient service covering trauma and general surgery, with additional consults from urology, orthopedics, and colorectal
- Level I and Level II trauma center, you will respond to trauma activations and manage surgical floor needs overnight
- On call General Surgeon available for case discussion and escalation, supported by the surgical team
- Charting in EPIC with Dragon Dictation
Schedule
- Night shift coverage, 6p to 6a
- 7 on, 7 off ongoing rotation, must be able to cover full blocks
- No call
Cases and Procedures
- Inpatient admissions and consults for trauma and surgical services overnight
- Suturing, central lines, arterial lines
- Tube placement including chest tubes
- Troubleshooting foley catheters and managing continuous bladder irrigation
Requirements
- Must be a Nurse Practitioner
- Michigan license required
- Board certified
- Case log showing at least 50 cases in the last 12 months
