Invasive Imaging and Recovery RN AGENCY

Summary

This position cares for patients before, during and after an electrophysiology procedure. The role includes structural heart (including Watchman), lead extractions, ablations, vascular and EP pacemaker/device patients. The responsibilities encompass pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, documentation of procedural process, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, mapping, post-procedure care and patient education.

• (35%) Performs nursing care for the outlined procedures.
• (35%) Circulates and assists during cases, including sterile dropping of procedural supplies on tray, scrubbing in the case, and running supplies.
• (15%) Records all pertinent information on appropriate data sheets.
• (15%) Assists Radiologic Technologists in circulating cases and dropping procedural supplies on tray.
• Other duties and responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with physicians to provide a plan of care for each individualized patient.
  • Assists in other radiology/cardiology procedures as needed.
  • Performs clinical functions as needed.
  • Delegates and coordinates tasks and assignments of nursing care.
  • Assumes responsibility for professional growth by seeking educational opportunities and utilizing hospital programs.
  • Precepts/ mentors new employees and students.

  Experience:
  
  Knowledge of nursing techniques normally acquired through the completion of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing culminating in licensure in the State of Michigan.
• Credential: BLS:

  Knowledge of nursing techniques normally acquired through the completion of an Associate’s Degree in Nursing culminating in licensure in the State of Michigan.

• Education, Experience, and Training:
  • Knowledge of critical care nursing normally acquired through 2 years of experience working in a medical center or similar setting.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate successfully with individuals and groups.
  • Preferred:
    Electrophysiology skills gained through a minimum of 1 year of experience working in an electrophysiology lab environment.

  • Some exposure to blood‑borne pathogens and other infectious material; must follow My Michigan Health blood borne pathogen and TB testing as required.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work independently with regular attendance.
  • Dexterity required for handling, reaching, grasping.
  • Physical Demand Level: Medium. Must occasionally lift or carry 21‑50 lbs, frequently 20 lbs, and routinely 10 lbs.
