Summary
Eligible for a $2,500 Sign On Bonus for a two year commitment
Under direct supervision of the provider, will be responsible for patient assessment and care, and maintaining appropriate documentation. This position requires basic knowledge of specialty and/or primary care and the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients. The role involves coordinating care to assure high‑quality, compassionate patient care, overseeing patients at office locations, and acting as liaison with other organizations and departments.
Responsibilities include ordering medical, pharmacy, and office supplies, ensuring compliance with My Michigan Health policies, OSHA guidelines, CLIA regulations, and all relevant regulatory agencies, as well as training new employees, students, and float staff as needed. The clinical person will provide patient education, assist with specialty care modalities, manage symptom monitoring, handle emergencies, supervise the effects of care management on high‑risk patients, educate on prescriptions and side effects, and coordinate continuity of care with other providers.
General office duties such as keyboarding, filing, telephone, and computer use are also expected. Expectations may vary slightly depending on the practice assigned.
Provides complete patient assessment within the scope of practice. Performs patient care measures including injections, minor dressing changes, and obtaining blood specimens. May be required to demonstrate competency in procedures such as electrocardiogram (EKG), pulmonary function test (PFT), ankle brachial pressure index (ABI), and non‑stress test (NST). Assists in maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients and co‑workers. May be required to travel to satellite clinics.
Demonstrates competency in computer functions including Michigan Automated Prescription System (MAPS), Michigan Care Improvement Registry (MCIR), electronic medical records, laboratory information system (LIS), Emageon, and dictation systems. Maintains confidentiality, protects patient rights, and complies with HIPAA. Performs clerical duties such as filling out insurance forms, arranging hospital admission, answering the telephone, and filing medical records. Orders supplies and medications, documents and codes patient conditions in the medical record, participates in annual quality reviews, and provides age‑specific care according to standards and policies.

- Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
- LPN – Licensed Practical Nurse, required with equivalent experience within 3 months of hire or transfer. Must hold licensure in the State of Michigan.
Technical Certificate. Knowledge of nursing technique normally acquired through completion of an LPN program and holding licensure in the State of Michigan.
Experience, Training and SkillsWorking knowledge of Infor Lawson, electronic medical records, and practice management programs preferred. Knowledge of medical office policies, practices, and procedures normally acquired through three to five years of experience in the healthcare system or similar setting.
