Travel RN - Operating Room - Cardiovascular​/CVOR

American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week travel contract in Midland, MI, requiring 3+ years of CVOR experience, open heart experience, and prior travel work experience.

Requirements

• Active MI RN license required (must reflect Active status on LARA and/or Nursys)
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum 3 years of CVOR experience required
• Open heart experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Must be willing and able to float to the General OR
• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be considered for this position
• 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last 2 years required for consideration
• Current skills checklist (within 1 year), pertinent to CVOR, required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Located in a hospital CVOR setting in Midland, MI
• Primary work in the Cardiovascular OR (CVOR) with floating to the General OR when caseload is low, for turnover coverage, breaks, and room openings
• 10-hour day shifts
• Every third weekend required
• On-call requirement of 1-2 nights per week
• Assess surgical patient needs and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care with patient safety as a priority
• Supervise activity in the OR room, anticipate schedule changes, assemble equipment and supplies, assist anesthesia as needed, and monitor the sterile field
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians, the OR team, and ancillary departments
• Participate in staff development through preceptorship, in-services, educational meetings, and continuing education opportunities
• No more than 5 days of RTO may be requested for the duration of the contract
• 13-week contract duration
