  • Weekly Pay: $2,000 to $2,200
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide safe, timely, and compassionate nursing care to patients presenting to the emergency department
  • Perform rapid and comprehensive patient assessments and determine immediate nursing priorities
  • Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, oxygen saturation, neurological status, pain levels, and other clinical indicators
  • Perform triage assessments and prioritize patients based on acuity and clinical needs
  • Recognize signs of patient deterioration and initiate appropriate emergency interventions
  • Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other prescribed treatments safely
  • Establish and maintain IV access and manage IV therapies according to orders and facility protocols
  • Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with emergency procedures and treatments
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic testing, procedures, surgery, or admission as needed
  • Provide wound care, splinting, dressing changes, catheter care, and other emergency treatments
  • Respond promptly to cardiac arrests, respiratory emergencies, trauma cases, and other critical situations
  • Participate in code blue, rapid response, and emergency resuscitation efforts
  • Perform and assist with ECGs, specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and other emergency department procedures as applicable
  • Monitor patients receiving high-risk medications and identify potential adverse reactions or complications
  • Provide pain management and reassess patient response to interventions
  • Communicate critical patient information clearly and promptly to physicians and the healthcare team
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, follow-up care, and discharge instructions
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, laboratory staff, radiology teams, paramedics, technicians, CNAs, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain patient safety, infection prevention, and emergency preparedness standards
  • Follow facility policies, HIPAA requirements, medication-safety procedures, and applicable nursing regulations
Qualifications
  • Active Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room/Emergency Department nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current ACLS Certification required
  • Current PALS Certification required or preferred based on facility requirements
  • TNCC Certification preferred or required by facility
  • Strong emergency assessment and triage skills
  • Experience caring for high-acuity and critically ill patients
  • Strong knowledge of emergency medications, procedures, and interventions
  • Experience with IV therapy, cardiac monitoring, and emergency stabilization
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Excellent clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in high-pressure situations
  • Excellent prioritization and time-management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary emergency-care team
  • Comfortable working evening shifts
