Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Room provides urgent and compassionate care to acutely and non-acutely ill patients. They assessment, triage, and administer lifesaving interventions independently and collaboratively, ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a high-pressure environment.

Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, intervene promptly, and participate in care planning.
• Assess patient needs regularly and deliver skilled nursing services as prescribed by the physician’s plan of care.
• Process physician and provider orders accurately and follow up on medication changes and clarifications.
• Evaluate treatment effectiveness and suggest modifications to enhance patient care.
• Assist the healthcare team in updating and revising treatment plans based on current patient data.
• Provide physical and psychological comfort to patients, families, and visitors, and deliver discharge instructions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years of recent ER experience required.
• Travel experience preferred.
• Epic EMR system experience preferred.
• Current and active Michigan RN license as verified by Nursys or LARA.
• Valid AHA BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
