American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for an Emergency Room position on nights at a Level II trauma center, requiring 2+ years of ER experience and an active MI RN license.

• Level II trauma center emergency department in a 324-bed medical center
• Provides direct patient care including triage, patient history, vital signs, and assessments
• Handles both acutely ill and non-acute patients using complex and simple nursing skills
• EMR system used is Epic
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Required to work every third weekend
• No on-call requirements

• Active Michigan (MI) RN license required, compact license not accepted
• Minimum 2+ years of ER experience required
• Travel and Epic experience preferred
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• Current ACLS certification (AHA) required
• Skills checklist specific to ER specialty, current within 1 year, required
• Two completed supervisory reference forms within the last two years required
• Active MI license verification via LARA and/or Nursys required

• Performs nursing assessments, interventions, and care planning for ER patients
• Processes physician orders accurately and follows up on medication changes and clarifications
• Evaluates and helps revise treatment plans in collaboration with the care team
• Provides physical and psychological support to patients, families, and visitors
• Delivers discharge and follow-up instructions to patients and families
• Communicates with pre-hospital providers via ambulance radio and provides appropriate care orders independently
• Works in a fast-paced, frequently stressful environment with sophisticated medical equipment
• Dress code requires navy blue scrubs
• Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius, as local candidates are not considered
• No more than 5 days of requested time off (RTO) during the assignment
