Position Overview:
- Provide skilled nursing care to outpatient patients assigned to observation status.
- Assess, implement, and monitor patient care according to physician orders and accepted nursing standards.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide safe and effective patient care.
- Assess patients' needs and provide skilled nursing services according to the plan of care.
- Provide direct patient care, including medication administration and treatments.
- Respond to call lights and alarms.
- Assist patients with transfers and other care needs.
Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans and participate in updates or revisions. - Process physician/provider orders accurately and in a timely manner.
- Follow up on medication changes and clarify orders as needed.
- 2+ years of Observation nursing experience –
Required. - Epic EMR experience –
Preferred. - Active Michigan RN license –
Required. - Active American Heart Association BLS –
Required.
- Work history.
- Observation Skills Checklist, current within 1 year –
Required. - Two Supervisory Reference Forms completed within the last 2 years –
Required. - Proof of active Michigan license through LARA and/or Nursys –
Required. - Current AHA BLS –
Required.
