The Role
We are looking for our next Logistics Technician 2 (LT2) within our QC Laboratory. The LT2 will be responsible for providing high-quality analytical data to release products in support of the objectives and goals of the Nutrition & Biosciences business.
This position is a bargained-for position in collaboration with United Steelworkers AFL-CIO-CLC, Local Union 12075-26.
This position is in Midland, MI.
CompensationThe current compensation for this role is $21.56/hr in addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance-based incentive compensation.
What You’ll Do- Analyze samples according to the sample plan. Prioritize and analyze special request samples.
- Using tools, evaluate validity of data, apply basic statistics, compare to spec limits, and take appropriate action.
- Document, communicate, and archive results following cGMP rules.
- Communicate role related information between shifts, day staff, and business partners.
- Follow EH&S and Operating Discipline / Quality System procedures and practices.
- Participate in facility management, including, but not limited to: managing materials & supplies, housekeeping, and managing waste in accordance with RCRA guidelines.
- Provide professional communication to clients, co-workers, and leadership.
- Working within an integrated staffing strategy, promote an environment of teamwork while leading through example.
- Utilize electronic tools (e.g. Sample Manager, SharePoint, ETQ, Microsoft Planner, Outlook, Etc.).
- Follow applicable supporting work processes.
- Participate in plant initiatives (e.g. involvement in teams, operating discipline improvements, work process implementation, work process tools).
- Suggest improvements to the analytical work process and performance to EHSQ Management System (MS).
- Provide first-line conflict resolution.
- Assure compliance to all rules and regulations for shift work.
- Assure compliance to all GMP and ISO requirements.
- Assure compliance with all EH&S requirements.
- Achieve personal learning needs utilizing the available learning resources.
- Complete lab and facility training program and maintain qualification on all applicable tests and quality system requirements in accordance with the organization’s training and qualification procedure.
- Complete additional technical training in accordance with an employee development plan.
- High School diploma/GED
- College coursework in Chemistry preferred.
- Previous analytical laboratory experience and/or technical training in analytical chemistry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word, Sample Manager, and Share Point
- Proficiency with math and computer skills required to perform logistics role in cGMP lab
- Able to lift 50 lbs. once/wk
- Able to work on feet for extended periods of time (up to 75% of shift)
- Good manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Able to work a reasonable amount of overtime per the contract and/or business needs
- Provide coverage on weekends, evenings, night, and holidays as scheduled, on a regular basis
- The role works on a forward rotating 7 & 2 schedule with 12-hour weekends.
