Although Hajoca is a large company, we operate in a decentralized environment where each location, called a Profit Center, is run by the Profit Center Manager as if it were their own small business. A Profit Center includes a warehouse, counter, sales office, and sometimes a showroom. Our PCs conduct business under unique trade names and offer a customized approach that honors what’s special about each local marketplace.

Builders Plumbing & HTG is one of those trade names and is looking for a Warehouse Teammate at the Midland, MI location. The pay for Warehouse Teammate at this location is between $18 and $22 per hour.

Role summary: provide accurate order fulfillment, material handling, safety, and customer service support within a Hajoca Profit Center.

You will be a Warehouse Teammate at the Midland, MI location.

Responsibilities

• Count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
• Stock and maintain the warehouse; pick, document, and pack customer orders in accordance with company policy and procedure.
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Handle shipping discrepancies per procedures or forward appropriate paperwork to the designated employee.
• Identify nonstock, special-order material, and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations.
• Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third-party carrier.
• Load and unload trucks; operate warehouse forklift and other material handling equipment safely.
• Inform immediate supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/nonsaleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
• Ensure security and controls are in place to protect Profit Center assets.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety; remove empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and debris; inform supervisor of safety issues.
• Assist co-workers in servicing customers.
• Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s Safety Standards and complete required safety and compliance training programs.
• Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

About You

• 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience.
• Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred.
• Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to quickly develop comprehensive knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center.
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
• Knowledge of safety precautions in a warehouse and material handling environment.
• Ability to learn to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment in use at the Profit Center.
• Ability to learn and operate computer-related systems used for warehouse operations.
• Read, write, speak, and understand English.
• Ability to perform arithmetic with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
