Controller - Manufacturing & Cost Accounting
Location:
Midland, TX (Hybrid work acceptable) Salary: $130,000 - $155,000
Founded in the early 2000s, we are a growing mid-sized industrial organization supporting multiple manufacturing and field service operations across the region. We produce a mix of fabricated products and equipment used in energy and infrastructure markets. As we continue to scale, we are elevating our financial leadership structure and seeking a Controller with strong manufacturing cost accounting experience to lead all accounting operations and drive financial accuracy across a multi-segment production environment.
WhatYou Will Be Doing
- Lead all cost accounting functions including job costing for labor, materials, overhead, WIP, and project-based revenue recognition
- Direct inventory accounting, cycle counts, material flow visibility, and cost-of-goods accuracy
- Manage cost tracking, forecasting, margin analysis, and financial performance across multiple business units
- Oversee monthly close, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance for a multi-segment manufacturing operation
- Partner with operations, supply chain, and material control teams to improve inventory accuracy and production cost visibility
- Support cash flow forecasting, AR/AP tracking, billing, collections, and working capital management
- Provide financial analysis, variance reporting, and ERP-driven insights to support operational discipline and leadership decision-making
- Supervise and develop accounting staff including AP, AR, cost accounting, and general accounting resources
- Maintain GAAP compliance, support external audits, and strengthen internal control frameworks
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives across accounting processes, systems, and reporting tools
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance with 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, fabrication, EPC, or construction accounting
- Strong understanding of job costing, inventory accounting, WIP, and ERP-based financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills and comfort working in a fast-growth, hands-on environment
- Experience partnering with operations teams and supporting financial processes in production settings
- CPA or CPA-track, Power BI, or manufacturing ERP experience preferred
